NBCC Foundation Rural Scholarships

NBCC Foundation Rural Scholarships are offered to students residing in rural areas who are currently enrolled in a master's level counseling program and are committed to practicing in rural communities after graduation. Applicants must agree to a 2 year service contract.
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled, full time in a CACREP-accredited counseling master's program
- Reside in a rural area as defined by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
- Be currently enrolled full time and be in good standing in a CACREP-accredited counseling master's-level program
- Graduate by May 31, 2028 (within three years of the date of the scholarship funding)
- Not have an anticipated program completion date before December 31, 2025
- Commit to becoming board certified by applying for the National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification prior to graduation and to completing the application process
- Commit to providing mental health services in a rural area within 1 year of graduation and for the duration of a minimum of at least 2 years post-graduation
Five $8,000 scholarships will be awarded.
