Oklahoma Nursing Student Assistance Program

The Oklahoma Nursing Student Assistance Program offers forgivable loans to Oklahoma students pursuing nursing degrees in return for agreeing to practice in Oklahoma upon graduation. Priority is placed on practicing in rural communities.
Loans are forgiven if students complete a service contract. Loans are forgiven at the rate of one year of service per year of loan.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, legal residents of Oklahoma, and unconditionally admitted as a student in an accredited program of nursing study.
Eligible nursing degrees include:
- Licensed practical nursing (LPN)
- Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN)
- Master's of science in nursing (MSN)
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Participating nurse practitioners (MSN/DNP) must establish a rural practice. Service obligations for RN and LPN participants must be fulfilled in a rural community.
LPNs - $1,500-$3,000 per program
ADNs - $2,500-$5,000 per academic
year
BSNs - $3,500-$7,000 per academic
year
MSNs/DNPs - $5,000-$10,000 per academic
year
Amounts are determined by the actual costs of attending per program/academic year and whether or not the student has matching funds from a sponsor.
