Purpose

The North Dakota Federal Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance to certain medical professionals who agree to practice in a Health Professional Shortage Area of North Dakota.

Recipients must agree to a minimum 2-year service agreement.

Eligibility

Eligible professions include:

  • Primary Care Physicians (MD, DO)
  • Advanced Practice (NP, CNM, PA)
  • Dentists (DDS, DMD)
  • Dental Hygienist (RDH)
  • Registered Nurses (RN)
  • Pharmacists (PharmD)
  • Clinical Psychologist (PsyD or PhD)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)
  • Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)

Amount of funding

Applicants may receive up to $50,000 for a 2-year commitment, with opportunities to renew up to 5 years.
