The Missouri Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in an underserved area of Missouri, waiving the foreign medical residency requirement and allowing them to remain in the United States. The program is intended to provide physician services in areas which typically have difficulty attracting and retaining physicians.
Priority will be given to primary care physicians in the areas of:
- Family medicine
- General pediatrics
- General obstetrics/gynecology
- General internal medicine
Waivers may be recommended for other specialties if vacant slots are available in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas.
This is an incentive program that offers foreign physicians a visa waiver, allowing them to work in the U.S.
Links to additional guidance, application instructions, and the online application form are available on the program website.
Applications are accepted for a short window each year from October 1 – October 31.
