Purpose

The Kansas Conrad State 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in an underserved area of Kansas, waiving the foreign medical residency requirement and allowing them to remain in the United States. The program is intended to provide physician services in areas that typically have difficulty attracting and retaining physicians.

Primary care physicians and specialty physicians are eligible.

Applications are accepted in 2 phases. Those received between September 1 and November 30 will be given priority. Applications will continue to be accepted after November 30; however, they will only be considered if all 30 slots are not filled during the first phase.
