The Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Program (MRDSP) offers a scholarship to rural dentistry students in Mississippi who agree to practice in underserved rural areas of Mississippi upon completion of their degree.
The program is designed for students currently residing in rural areas of Mississippi who wish to return to those areas to practice dentistry.
The program has 3 phases.
- Undergraduate - Pre-matriculation "nurturing" for rural pre-dental students in their senior year of college
- Dental school - A scholarship and support to help rural students to be successful
- Initial practice support - Initial practice entry support system

Priority consideration is given to dentistry students who have participated in the pre-matriculation phase of the program.
A scholarship up to $35,000 per year.

Admitted or current dentistry students must apply for the scholarship by April 1 each year. Undergraduate students wanting to participate in the pre-matriculation phase must apply by February 15 of each year.
