The Vermont Educational Loan Repayment Program for Nurses provides loan repayment for LPNs and RNs working in shortage areas in the state of Vermont.
Nurses must work in areas and nursing specialties that are designated as underserved. Awards go directly to pay educational loans. Recipients must agree to a 12 month service obligation.
Vermont residents who are legally authorized to work as an RN or LPN and who work in areas and nursing specialties that are designated as underserved are eligible to apply.
Graduation/completion date of most current nursing degree must be on or after April 1, 2001.
Priority is given to areas which are underserved with special consideration for Vermont's most rural, underserved, and undersupplied areas.
Up to $15,000 per year in state funds. State awards may be enhanced by employer or community matching funds.
