Vermont Educational Loan Repayment Program offers loan repayment assistance to primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who agree to practice in an underserved area of Vermont.
Recipients must sign a 12-24 month service agreement and practice for at least 20 hours per week at designated sites.
Recipients must be Vermont residents who are U.S. citizens or nationals.
Eligible professions include:
- Physicians (MD, DO, or ND)
- Psychiatrists
- Geriatricians
- Advanced practice registered nurses
- Certified nurse midwives
- Physician assistants
Eligible primary care specialties include:
- Family medicine
- General internal medicine
- Pediatrics
- Obstetrics/gynecology
- Geriatrics
- Psychiatry
Eligible work sites are primary care practices (ambulatory/outpatient), urgent care, outpatient mental health/substance use disorder settings, inpatient mental health settings, or Free Health Care Clinics in Vermont.
Up to $50,000 per year, based on the amount of matching funds, for a maximum of 6 years.
