Purpose

Loan repayment assistance for primary care physicians who agree to practice in rural communities in Oklahoma with the goal of providing medical care and services to underserved Oklahoma citizens with special emphasis on Medicaid and Medicare recipients.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are primary care physicians in the areas of:

  • Family medicine
  • Geriatrics
  • General internal medicine
  • General pediatrics
  • Obstetrics/gynecology
  • Emergency medicine

Physicians already serving in rural areas of Oklahoma are ineligible to apply.

Oklahoma
Amount of funding

Up to $50,000 per year or $200,000 over a maximum of 4 years. Amounts are based on the amount of educational loans to be repaid.
