The RuralMed Program at the University of North Dakota's School of Medicine and Health Sciences offers medical students full tuition in the form of a forgivable loan in return for a 5-year service agreement to practice in rural North Dakota upon graduation.
The program accepts applications from medical students who are enrolled at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Priority consideration is given to first-year medical students, then any medical student.
Rural is defined as all locations except Bismarck-Mandan, Fargo-West Fargo, Grand Forks, and Minot.
Selected students will receive up to 4 years of full tuition in the form of a forgivable loan.

Application materials should be submitted by email to Angela Osborn or delivery to the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions, SMHS Room W101.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
