The Pre-Graduate Scholarship Program provides financial support for American Indian and Alaska Native (federally or state-recognized) students to enroll in courses leading to a bachelor's degree in specific pre-professional areas, such as pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-nursing, and other subjects needed by the Indian health programs. There is no service requirement attached to the scholarship.
Descendants and members of federally or state-recognized tribes are eligible.
Applicants must be enrolled in a pre-health professions program leading to a bachelor of science degree.
Support covers tuition and required fees for health profession courses and additional educational and living expenses for up to 4 years.
Scholarship recipients are also eligible to request funding for summer courses. Funding for summer courses must be requested annually no later than April 22.
