Minnesota Nurse in Long Term Care Loan Forgiveness Program

The Minnesota Nurse in Nursing Homes Loan Forgiveness Program offers loan repayment assistance to students in Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) programs or currently licensed RNs/LPNs who agree to practice in long-term care in Minnesota.
RN and LPN students, as well as currently licensed RNs and LPNs are eligible to apply.
Participants are required to serve a minimum of 2 years with the option to extend 2 additional years in:
- Nursing homes
- Housing with services establishment
- Home care
- Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) for persons with developmental disabilities
- Hospital if it owns/operates a licensed nursing home (must work 50% time in nursing home)
Preference is given to applicants closest to completing their training and those who can demonstrate diverse cultural competencies.
Up to $6,000 per year with a maximum of $24,000.
