Virginia Nursing Scholarship Programs provide scholarships for students enrolled in nursing education programs to become registered nurses and licensed practical nurses and who agree to serve in a medically underserved area of Virginia upon graduation. Recipients must agree to a service contract of one year of service per year of scholarship received.
Eligible nursing fields include registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs). Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate financial need.
The maximum scholarship award is $2,000, for up to 4 years.
The amount of each scholarship award is dependent upon the amount of funds appropriated by the Virginia General Assembly and the number of qualified applicants.
