CMS Preparing to Close Program that Addressed Medicare Funding Issues Resulting from Change Healthcare Cyber-Attack
Jun 17, 2024 -- Announces the conclusion of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Accelerated and Advance Payment (AAP) Program, which launched in March to address payment disruptions resulting from the Change Healthcare cyberattack. Notes that over $2.55 billion has been distributed to Part A providers as a result of the program, which will conclude on July 12.

Project Title: Development and Reevaluation of Maternal Health Measures and Designation
Jun 14, 2024 -- Call for nominations for a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Technical Expert Panel (TEP) for the expansion of both the Maternal Morbidity Structural Measure (MMSM) and the Birthing-Friendly Hospital Designation. Ideal TEP nominees include clinical experts, obstetrical/gynecologic department chairs, hospital administrators, perinatal quality improvement experts, health equity and birth justice experts, statistical and performance measurement experts, and consumer/patient/family caregiver experts. Nominations can be submitted until July 12th.

Biden-Harris Administration Invests $11 Million to Expand Medical Residencies in Rural Communities
Jun 13, 2024 -- Announces the awarding of over $11 million to 15 organizations to establish new rural residency programs. The programs will increase rural training opportunities for obstetrics and gynecology. Also discusses previous funding for rural healthcare.

Montana Creates Emergency 'Drive-Thru' Blood Pickup Service for Rural Ambulances
Jun 13, 2024 -- Describes the Montana Interfacility Blood Network, a network allowing ambulances to transfuse patients with blood available at hospitals on the way to more advanced care facilities. The Network expects to benefit rural patients who have higher rates of injuries and less access to advanced care.

Opioid Crisis Innovation Challenge

Cervical Cancer Screening Rates among Rural and Urban Females, From 2019 to 2022
Analyzes frequency of receiving a recent Papanicolau (Pap) test among rural and urban women aged 21 to 65, using Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) data from 2019, 2020, and 2022. Provides screening rate data comparisons by year and by demographic category, including race and ethnicity, age, insurance status, educational level, and more.

Colorectal Cancer Data Dashboard
Dashboard providing maps and graphs of county-level colorectal cancer (CRC) data from a variety of sources. Evaluation of the Maternal Opioid Misuse (MOM) Model: Third Annual Report (Implementation Year 2)

Neighborhood Deprivation and Breast Cancer Mortality Among Black and White Women

Promoting Disposal of Left-Over Opioids After Surgery in Rural Communities: A Qualitative Description Study

Providing Employment Services to Individuals in Recovery: Lessons from Addiction Recovery Care
