Evaluation Objectives
Services integration programs should develop evaluation objectives that align with the evaluation questions. Evaluation objectives can help a program:
- Document the level of success in achieving program objectives
- Identify areas for improvement
- Decide how to allocate resources
- Mobilize community support
- Identify new funding sources
- Make new partnerships
- Determine the potential for sustainability
Evaluation objectives are most useful when they are SMART:
- Specific – Detect changes in the program.
- Measurable – Collect data that are complete and accurate.
- Actionable – Show performance over time to identify when or where action should be taken.
- Relevant – Focus on only the relevant indicators.
- Timely – Capture data in the period it is needed, if not real time.
