Describes suicide prevention needs and disparities in Native American communities and the interventions put in place by the White Mountain Apache tribe. Using data from a tribally mandated surveillance system, compares suicide death rates and characteristics from 2001-2006 to data from 2007-2012. Table 1 offers a breakdown of suicide death rates by age group, and Figure 1 compares suicide death rates to national data.
