Dec 16, 2024 - The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is seeking nominations to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). Specific areas of expertise being sought include public health, health equity and the reduction of health disparities, application of science to health policy, decision modeling, dissemination and implementation, behavioral medicine and clinical health psychology, and communication of scientific findings to diverse audiences. Nominations of individuals with training and expertise in family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology will receive the strongest consideration. Nominations are due by March 15th of a given year to be considered for appointment to begin in January of the following year.

Nov 29, 2024 - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking nominations to the Veterans' Rural Health Advisory Committee. The committee advises the Secretary through the Under Secretary for Health on ways to improve and enhance access to VA health care services for Veterans residing in rural areas by reviewing current program activities and identifying barriers to accessing care and services. Nominations must be received by January 21, 2025.

Nov 19, 2024 - Notice from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announcing the establishment of National Advisory Committee on the Trafficking of Children and Youth in the United States to advise on practical and general policies concerning improvements in the national response to the human trafficking of children and youth in the United States. The Committee's charter was filed on November 7, 2024.

Nov 18, 2024 - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking nominations for the CDC/HRSA Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer in Young Women (ACBCYW). Nominees will be selected based on expertise in the fields of breast health, breast cancer, disease prevention and risk reduction, survivorship (including metastatic breast cancer), hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, or in related disciplines with a specific focus on young women, or with personal experience with early onset breast cancer. Nominations are due by December 16, 2024.

Nov 13, 2024 - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is seeking applications for individuals for membership on the following national advisory committees: National Advisory Committee on Individuals with Disabilities and Disasters (NACIDD), the National Advisory Committee on Seniors and Disasters (NACSD), and the National Biodefense Science Board (NBSB). Applications are due by January 11, 2025.

Nov 8, 2024 - Notice from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announcing the establishment of the CMS Health Equity Advisory Committee (HEAC) to advise and make recommendations to CMS on the identification and resolution of systemic barriers to accessing CMS programs that hinder the quality of care for beneficiaries and consumers. The Committee will focus on health disparities in underserved communities, which are populations sharing a particular characteristic or geography, that have been systematically denied a full opportunity to participate in aspects of economic, social, and civic life. CMS is also requesting nominations for membership on the HEAC. Nominations are due by December 12, 2024.
